Government College University Lahore has opened Phase III admissions for Fall 2026, covering several BS, diploma and certificate programs at both its Main Campus on Katchery Road and its New Campus at Kala Shah Kaku. A 60 percent scholarship is available for students admitted to selected BS programs. The deadline to apply is October 2, 2026.

Programs on Offer

At the Main Campus, BS programs are being offered in the morning session across a range of disciplines. The Physics program runs in the evening session. Evening programs in Forensic Science are also available, with two options: a six-month Certificate in Forensic Science and a one-year Diploma in Forensic Science.

BS programs are additionally available at the New Campus in Kala Shah Kaku.

Most BS programs have no entrance test requirement. Exceptions apply for two categories: applicants for BFA programs in all disciplines must appear in an entrance test, and applicants for BS Physical Education must take a Physical Efficiency Test on October 4, 2026, at the Main Campus.

Admission Process

Applications must be submitted online through the GCU official admissions portal before October 2. Admission to BS programs is generally based on Intermediate Part-I marks or equivalent. The processing fee is Rs. 1,000 for BS and diploma programs, and Rs. 500 for certificate programs.

The Scholarship

The 60 percent scholarship applies to students admitted to specific BS programs. GCU has operated this scholarship framework across its admissions phases throughout 2026 as a deliberate effort to reduce the financial barrier to higher education at one of Pakistan's most prestigious public universities.

About GCU Lahore

Government College University Lahore was established in 1864 and is among the oldest continuously operating educational institutions in the subcontinent. It ranked equal 166th in QS Asian University Rankings for Southern Asia 2026. Graduates are known as Ravians — a designation with real weight in Pakistan's professional and academic networks.

The university operates across two campuses. The Main Campus on Katchery Road sits in central Lahore and houses its flagship programs in the sciences, humanities and social sciences. The New Campus at Kala Shah Kaku on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway offers additional BS programs and is accessible via a free inter-campus shuttle service.

For Pakistani students weighing their higher education options, GCU occupies an unusual position: it carries the institutional prestige typically associated with elite private universities but at a fraction of the cost, and the scholarship framework further narrows that gap for qualifying students.
